4 Days: Corinth Canal, Mycenae, Nafplio, Epidaurus & Tolo
The classic first taste of the Peloponnese, at an easy pace: the Corinth Canal, the citadel of Mycenae, the old town of Nafplio – the first capital of modern Greece – the ancient theatre of Epidaurus and a day on the beach at Tolo.
Why a private driver?
- Door to door – from Athens, the airport or the port straight to your hotel, with no bus changes.
- Stops where you want – a coffee in a square, a photo stop, an extra site on the way.
- Relax after dinner – no driving on mountain roads at night.
- Flexible – change the plan on the day; we adapt.
Day 1: Athens – Corinth Canal – Mycenae – Nafplio
Pick-up in Athens and about an hour to the Corinth Canal. Continue to Mycenae, the city of Agamemnon, with the Lion Gate and the royal tombs, then 30 minutes to Nafplio. See where to stay in Nafplio.
Day 2: Nafplio
Climb to the Palamidi fortress in the morning, then the old town, its squares and the seafront walk around the Akronafplia peninsula, with views of the Bourtzi castle.
Day 3: Epidaurus – Tolo
Drive about 40 minutes to the sanctuary of Asklepios and the ancient theatre of Epidaurus, famous for its acoustics – on summer weekends you can stay for a performance of the Epidaurus Festival. Afternoon on the beach at Tolo. Overnight in Thimeli Hotel near Epidaurus or Noma Suites in Tolo.
Day 4: Tolo – Athens
A last swim, then back to Athens or the airport, about 2 hours – or continue into the mountains of Arcadia, 1 h 30 from Nafplio.
