Mountains after a week at sea: the stone villages of Arcadia, where we live, with an easy hike to monasteries built into the cliffs.
Best for: Travellers who want calm, nature and local food after the sea.
Day 1 – to Arcadia
Drive to the stone villages of Gortynia. Dinner with local food. Night in Lagkadia or Dimitsana.
Day 2 – Lousios Gorge
An easy hike in the Lousios Gorge to the monasteries of Prodromos and Philosophou, then Stemnitsa and Dimitsana. Night in the villages.
Day 3 – back
A slow breakfast and the drive back to Lavrio or the airport.
Before or after your charter
Before: we meet you at Athens Airport and drop you at Lavrio marina in time to board. After: we pick you up at the marina and finish at the airport or your Athens hotel. Lavrio is about 30 minutes from Athens Airport.
Good to know
The hike is short and easy, on the Menalon Trail; good shoes are enough.
In winter
Fireplaces, chestnuts and snow on the mountains – a different trip from the summer.
