Explore Ancient Olympia
Ancient Olympia, in the green valley of the Alfeios river in western Peloponnese, is the birthplace of the Olympic Games. The sanctuary of Zeus, the ancient stadium and one of the finest museums in Greece are a short walk from the village, and the beaches of Ilia and the Ionian coast are within an hour.

Kourouta is about 45 minutes by car from Ancient Olympia, 1 hour from Patras and about 3½ hours from Athens. There is no train to Olympia and buses need changes, so the easiest way is a private transfer from Athens or Athens airport straight to your hotel.
