Explore east Attica
East of Athens airport lie the vineyards of Mesogaia, the harbour town of Rafina with ferries to the Cyclades and Evia, and the long beaches of Nea Makri and Marathon, where the famous battle of 490 BC was fought. It is an easy, relaxed base close to the airport.

Marathon is about 35 km from Athens airport, around 35 minutes by car. The easiest way is a private transfer from the airport straight to your hotel – and on to the port of Rafina or central Athens when you need it.
