Explore Kalavryta
Kalavryta is a mountain town of Achaia below Mount Helmos, with a ski centre in winter and cool forests in summer. The famous rack railway runs down the Vouraikos gorge to Diakopto, and the Cave of the Lakes, the monastery of Mega Spileo and the historic Agia Lavra are all close by.

How to get here from Athens
Kalavryta is about 190 km from Athens, roughly 2 h 30 by car. Buses from Athens are few and need changes, so the easiest way is a private transfer from Athens or Athens airport straight to your hotel – or the drive up from Diakopto if you come by the rack railway.
