Stone Hotel at the Entrance of Karytaina
📍 Karytaina, 220 22, Arcadia, Greece
Pelasgos Hotel is an elegant stone building just before the entrance to Karytaina, the medieval village with the Frankish castle above the Alfeios river. It respects the architecture of the area while offering all modern comforts. Its name comes from Pelasgos, the mythical first king of Arcadia.
The rooms are spacious, with wooden floors, air conditioning, a 32-inch TV, minibar, safe and desk, and most open onto a balcony. Choose a Classic or Superior Double Room, a triple room with fireplace, or one of the accessible double and triple rooms on the ground floor. A traditional breakfast with local flavours starts the day, and the hotel restaurant and café serve authentic Greek cooking. Stemnitsa, Dimitsana, Andritsaina and the Lousios Gorge are all within easy reach.

Explore Karytaina, Stemnitsa and Dimitsana
Karytaina, with its 13th-century Frankish castle and old stone bridge over the Alfeios, sits where the Lousios Gorge meets the Alfeios valley. Upstream are Stemnitsa and Dimitsana, stone villages with cliff-side monasteries, the Open-Air Water Power Museum and the most famous section of the Menalon Trail.

Pelasgos Hotel is in Karytaina, about 2½ hours by car from Athens and the airport. There is no train in Arcadia and few buses, so the easiest way is a private transfer: your driver meets you at the airport, port or your hotel in Athens and brings you to the door – with stops on the way if you like.
