How to Get from Athens Airport to Nafplio: Bus, Taxi or Private Transfer

Nafplio, the elegant first capital of modern Greece, is one of the most popular first stops in the Peloponnese – and it is closer to Athens airport than most people think. Here are the ways to get there after your flight, and why most of our guests choose a private transfer.

Times are approximate and depend on traffic, waiting time and timetables.

By bus

From the arrivals level take the X93 airport bus to the Kifissos intercity bus terminal (about 45–60 minutes, depending on traffic). There you change to a KTEL Argolida bus to Nafplio, a trip of around 2 hours to 2 hours 20 minutes via Corinth and Argos. Buses run regularly through the day, but you may have to wait at Kifissos, and you need to carry your luggage between the two buses.

By taxi

Taxis wait outside arrivals. The drive on the motorway via Corinth takes about two hours. Agree the details with the driver before you leave, and keep in mind that a long-distance taxi is not pre-booked: in busy hours you may have to queue.

By private transfer – the easy way

With a private transfer your driver waits for you at arrivals with a name sign, helps with your luggage and drives you straight to your hotel in Nafplio – about 140 km, roughly 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours. No terminals, no changes, no waiting, even if your flight lands late at night.

  • Meet and greet at arrivals – your driver follows your flight.
  • Door to door – straight to your hotel in the old town.
  • Stop on the way – a photo stop at the Corinth Canal, on request.
  • The right vehicle – car, minivan or minibus for your group.
