Poulithra is the ideal destination for anyone who wishes to experience a quiet, beautiful holiday in a traditional and untouched modern tourist settlement.
The seaside resort is 9 km from Leonidion. Poulithra is built on the ancient city of Polichni, mentioned by historian Polybius.
The acropolis of the ancient city is located on the hill next to the port. There are traces of the ancient harbour (bollards).
Also on the hill (Vigla), there is an ancient castle. Byzantine walls have been preserved. The green on the outskirts of Parnon meets the blue waters and blends harmoniously with the delicate pebble beach. The traditional settlement consists of whitewashed houses that have gardens and courtyards full of flowers, mansions of Canine architecture and a beautiful harbour. The chapel of Saint George, on the edge of the village, is reached by boat and from its surroundings, the traveller can admire the truly spectacular view.

About Poulithra
Poulithra is a quiet seaside village 9 km south of Leonidio, built on the site of ancient Polichni. Olive groves, an old harbour and the hill of Vigla with its castle remains make it a lovely place for a short walk by the sea.
When to go
The best months for walking are March to June and September to November, when the paths are green or golden and temperatures are mild. In July and August we start early in the morning to avoid the heat.
