Navarinia 2027: 200 Years of Navarino – 3 Days in Pylos

About this Tour

On 20 October 2027 Pylos celebrates the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Navarino, the naval battle of 1827 in Navarino Bay that became a turning point of the Greek War of Independence. The Navarinia festival usually runs over three days and ends on the evening of the 20th with a re-enactment of the battle in the bay. This private trip takes you there from Athens, with time for the castles and beaches of Messinia.

Day 2 – Wednesday 20 October 2027: the 200th anniversary
Ceremonies and events in town in the morning. In the afternoon, Voidokilia beach and the Gialova lagoon, an important wetland for birds. In the evening, the highlight of the festival: the re-enactment of the Battle of Navarino in the bay.

Day 3 – Thursday 21 October 2027: Palace of Nestor or Methoni – Athens
Visit the Mycenaean Palace of Nestor or the Venetian castle of Methoni, then drive back to Athens.
