Historic Estate Hotel facing the Rock of Monemvasia
📍 Agios Stefanos, Monemvasia, 230 70, Laconia, Greece
Kinsterna is a historic mansion on a 50-acre estate near Monemvasia, now a 5-star boutique eco-hotel. With roots in the Byzantine, Ottoman and Venetian eras and surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and citrus trees, it looks out across to the castle rock of Monemvasia.
The restored buildings combine simple, elegant architecture with a philosophy of self-sufficiency: the estate runs largely on solar energy, and seasonal activities from the farm and vineyard are part of daily life at the hotel. The restaurant serves modern Greek cuisine on terraces with views to the sea, there is a large outdoor pool among the old stone walls, and electric-vehicle charging is available.

Explore Monemvasia & Elafonisos
Monemvasia is a Byzantine castle town hidden on the seaward side of a huge rock, joined to the mainland by a single causeway – no cars inside, only cobbled lanes, churches and mansions, with the upper town and the church of Agia Sofia on the plateau above. Further south, Elafonisos island is famous for the white sand and turquoise water of Simos beach.
