Where to Stay on the Arcadian Coast: Astros, Tyros & Leonidio
The Arcadian coast runs along the Argolic Gulf, between the green slopes of Mount Parnon and the sea: the long beach of Paralio Astros, the fishing village of Tyros, and Leonidio below its red cliffs, a favourite of climbers. Here is how to choose your base, and the partner hotels and villas we book for our guests.
Choosing your base
- Paralio Astros – a long sandy beach, a small harbour and a castle, the closest part of the coast to Athens.
- Tyros – a quiet seaside village with pebble beaches and tavernas by the water.
- Leonidio & Pera Melana – red cliffs, rock climbing, the beaches of Poulithra and Plaka, and the start of the road up to Mount Parnon.
- Mount Parnon – stone villages such as Kosmas, cool in summer, half an hour above the coast.
